Thank you for making "Ride for Diane" a Reality
The "Ride for Diane" was started in 2003 for my sister Diane who was
battling brain cancer.
It was put together in a short time by me, John Mustica, and three of my good friends
Chip Calabro, Sam Grizanti, and Jim Bruce. We didn't know how it was going to turn out;
it was the first time any of us did something like this.
We were all nervous the morning of the ride, wondering how many bikes would show
up, if any! But to our surprise the bikes started to pull in to register that morning and
just kept coming in. It was an overwhelming sight to see these people, who heard about my
sister, and most didn't even know her, coming out to support us in this rough time.
We had about 175 bikes there, plus the passengers! It truly was an awesome sight. Chip, Sam,
Jim and I decided that the "Ride for Diane" was going to go on every year to help
another local family who was going through what my sisters' family went through, a local
family with a Mom or Dad with young kids, or a child who is battling cancer.
The "2nd Annual Ride for Diane" in 2004 was even bigger! With over 250 bikes plus
passengers, plus people in cars, there were 500+ there!
My sister lost her battle with brain cancer on November 7, 2004 with her husband Chris and
two kids Jonathan, 8, and Ashley, 6, by her side. She put up a courageous fight, for almost
two years.
The "Ride for Diane" will go on in her memory each and every year, helping another
local family.
Again, thanks for all the support that has been given to us so far and for your continued help.
